My Great Great Grandfather was mention in this book, â??Eighty Years Under the Stars and Bars,â? Thomas Fletcher Harwell, deceased of Kyle, Texas, who was the adjutant of the camp for more than twenty- five years, says: â??The organization of Camp Ben McCulloch took place in the summer of 1896, by a group of Confederate soldiers and their families and friends, who lived in the â??Hill Countryâ?? of Hays County.â? H e was James Foster Massey. I have several old photos of the 1955 reunion.

Let's all pray that we get some good rain before the 2010 reunion!!! I'll be going anyway - water in the creek or not! But I'd prefer water!!

Thank you to all the directors for all their hard work and dedication for putting on a great reunion. We will miss Harold and Eva with their leadership and dedication but we know the New Directors will carry on all the traditions and help move on in the right direction.

Wow! I am proud to say that I have literally been camping here since I was about 12. Maybe even before that time! Never mind how old I am now, but I have raised my son (Blake) who is 23 now, Tiffany (age 16) and Kyndall (age 6), at this wonderful place. This is such a wholesome, relaxing place for us to visit with family and friends. Each year I am amazed at the stories that are told from past reunions and look forward to making new ones. For me, this is the one time that I get to spend catching up with all of my highschool classmates and laughing about all the funny stories we can tell on one another. I love the fact that everyone knows everyone her and if you don't, then you will by the end of the week. We are looking forward to another awesome year. Pray for some rain to fill the creek!!!!!!!!!!! We love to sit in the creek with our chairs, play cards or dominoes, drink beer, and just visit with friends. See ya soon.

I look forward to this wonderful event every year. It is a place where families gather and share memories. My kids absolutely adore Camp Ben. They have several holidays, but Camp Ben is the one they mark right after New Years. I am honored to carry on the tradition for the Roberts Family. Specifically for my great grandfather Dayton Roberts.
